About GeoTemp

GeoTemp Ltd is the installation and contracting partner for SECTA surface energy systems. We were established to handle what SECTA does not — the physical installation, the site work, the plant room, the commissioning, and the ongoing support.

SECTA, developed by Geo Surface Design Ltd with professional HVAC design authority from tBBC, defines the thermal strategy, the collector principles, the hydraulic arrangement, and the controls philosophy. GeoTemp turns that design into a working system.

SECTA installation

Surface collector arrays, Ground Array Accumulator integration, manifold and pipework installation, and hydraulic connection to the building-side plant. Built to the SECTA design, installed by engineers who understand the system.

Heat pump systems

Water-to-water heat pump specification and installation, low-temperature heating and cooling distribution, and source-side integration. Sized from the building's thermal requirement, not from a product brochure.

HVAC services

Wider mechanical and building services work — ventilation, ductwork, pipework, plant room fit-out, and maintenance. The same engineering discipline applied to conventional HVAC projects.

We do not ask surfacing contractors to become heating engineers — and we do not ask heating engineers to guess the surfacing.

An engineered route from design to plantroom.

GeoTemp delivers three connected service areas. Each can be engaged independently or as part of a full SECTA installation package.

  • For specifiers: a credible installation partner who understands the SECTA design and can flag buildability issues before they become excavation issues.
  • For developers: a single accountable point of contact for the physical delivery — collector, manifolds, accumulator, heat pump, hydronics, and commissioning.
  • For surfacing partners: a defined technical boundary, so workmanship and finish quality are protected while the energy installation is owned by competent engineers.
  • For HVAC designers: an installation team that understands low-temperature source-side design and won't compromise the heat pump integration through poor installation practice.

Engineering discipline

Every installation starts with the design intent, the thermal duty, and the system boundaries. We don't improvise on site. We build what was specified, flag what won't work before it's buried, and commission what we install.

SECTA owns the design. GeoTemp owns the installation. The surfacing partner owns the finish. Each party has a defined scope, and the boundaries are documented before groundworks begin — not argued about after.

Commissioning focus

A system that isn't commissioned isn't finished. We balance flows, verify performance, and demonstrate that the installed system does what the design said it would. The evidence base matters.

Practical engineering

Experience matters. The system has to be buildable, commissionable and understandable after the brochure has gone in the bin. We bring long-standing HVAC and hydronic experience to every SECTA installation.

From suitability assessment to handover — a defined sequence, not a hopeful process.

Suitability assessment

Before anything goes in the ground, we assess whether the site and the building are right for a SECTA system. If SECTA isn't the right answer, we'll say so.

Design coordination

We work from the SECTA design package, review for buildability, flag installation issues before they become excavation issues, and coordinate with all parties on sequencing and interfaces.

Installation

Collector pipework, manifolds, the GAA, header runs, the heat pump, the hydronic distribution, the controls. Installed in the right sequence, to the design.

Commissioning

Flow balancing, zone-by-zone verification, performance demonstration, and controls testing. A system that isn't commissioned isn't finished.

Handover and support

As-built drawings, the health and safety file, O&M instructions, and a walk-through with the people who'll run the building. Ongoing support where the client wants it.

GeoTemp has been shaped from long-standing HVAC, hydronic and heat pump design and installation experience — the practical understanding of what happens when an attractive concept meets real groundworks, real plant rooms, and real commissioning.
